Dr. Miller is a big believer in the body’s ability to heal itself if given a little help. N onsurgical treatment is our way of giving your body this help. We carefully remove the plaque and calculus from under your gumline. This is usually accomplished with a bit of local anesthetic (Novocaine) and yes, we try to give a good shot!! Nonsurgical therapy also consists of teaching and counseling you in ideal hygiene techniques. Without perfect hygiene periodontal treatment will not be as effective as possible. Most people return to work immediately after these root planing appointments. Discomfort following root planing is usually minimal. The major complaint is limited to cold sensitivity.
Surgical Services:
Dr. Miller’s practice in Dothan, Alabama provides a variety of surgical services. He prides himself on the fact that he is very conservative in his treatment recommendations and limits surgery to the areas where it is absolutely necessary. Periodontal procedures are available to regenerate the bone and gum tissue to their original furcation and cosmetic appearance.
